Wine Pairing Dinner – Celebrating Fine Wines and the New Year – 31 December 2014
New Year’s Eve – what a great time to enjoy fabulous food and fun holiday wines! For this event Chef James and Chef Rene kicked up the game a bit, considering the event would be on New Year’s Eve. They created nine exceptional dishes for our guests. We chose nine wines to pair, as always. This time we selected some nice holiday related wines. Sparkling wines were well represented; we had a Cava from Spain, a couple of Proseccos from Italy, a Brut from South Africa and an exceptional Champagne from Champagne, France. We also selected some very nice red wines to accompany the sparkling wines.
We had a fun evening of wine and food. A great New Year’s eve celebration. We had Matt Meserve playing piano. We had fun playing wine trivia, where the guests could win prizes for answering questions about the wine industry. The chef’s put on a show by preparing several dishes in the dining room for the guests. And there was our “Fire and Ice” course presentation. Look over the menu to get an idea of the evening. It was a wonderful evening. The guests had a great time with great wine and phenomenal food and the Fullerton Inn staff had fun putting on the show. Join us next time.
